Ipheion syn: The Spring Starflower, Triteleia, circa 1836, these sweetly scented flowers vary in color from white to pale blue to deep periwinkle. They bloom in April/May, 3" to 6" high. These charming and irresistible little flowers are planted here at Starflower Cottage.
What We Are
The Starflower guest cottage and gardens is a new luxury cottage, but a very cozy home away from home. We are located in the town of Springfield, just 10 miles north of the Village of Cooperstown. The Glimmerglass Opearhouse is in our view and is a 3-mile drive away.
The cottage sits atop a lofty hillside with panoramic views of lush meadows, valleys, and the soft rolling hilltops of the majestic Lake Otsego countryside.
The main house and Starflower Cottage are enveloped with flower and vegetable gardens. Hay meadows surround it all with mowed walking paths thru out. The hay is cut eventually for a local farm. Many family farms including the Amish farming community abound all around us.
